Cala Salada
Cala Salada is a well protected inlet where two small coves have formed. The first one - the most frequented of the two - is made up of golden, average textured sands. It is the larger of the two (about 80m long and 25m wide) and easier to get to. The second one is located at the end of a small path the follows along the seaside, with a good view of the area. It is the smaller of the two (hardly more than 35m long and 20m wide) with the same type of soil. Both face West and from them, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets of our Mediterranean Sea, the cradle and origin of life on this - to say the least privileged island. Without waiting for the sunset, you can see the enigmatic silhouette of the Isla Conejera (Ilia sa Conillera, for the islanders) set upon the horizon. According to the legends, it was a place for harvesting the herbs and essences used by the witches of Sant Antoni to elaborate their spells during the night of San Juan. Santa Eulalia Map |
