San Juan

With only about 5000 inhabitants and mostly agricultural this municipal is another other of the quieter areas of Ibiza. Situated in the north of the island it is surrounded by untouched natural landscapes where you can find virgin beaches and enjoy Ibiza’s most remote areas.

There are only 2 real tourist areas in San Juan, the Port of San Miguel and Portinatx, both with have  beaches, hotels, restaurants and public  transport.

San Juan village holds a very special fire festival every year to celebrate the day of its patron Saint. At this “Fiesta Major” on the 24th of June,  you will see a lot of fireworks and the tradition of  jumping over 7 fires , which is said to bring good luck or make wishes come true. You can also sample local foods, see folk dancing and live bands who play late into the night.
