Cala Vadella,
South - San José, Ibiza
Although Cala Vadella has been built up, it has been tastefully done, managing to integrate the residences (the majority being low buildings) into such a singular landscape.
The cleanliness of its fine, pearly sands deserves special mention. It is a shell-shaped beach of more than 250m in length, reaching widths of more than 80m in some parts. Its bottoms have a gentle slope, not more than 150cm deep, at 30m from shore. They are mostly sandy and deeper in they begin to alternate and to be covered with water plants. Because it is set apart from the winds, Cala Vadella is an excellent place for swimming and anchoring.
Cala Vadella is on two bus lines: #26 and #42. If you drive, we recommend that you enjoy the spectacular views by taking the road that leaves Cala Moli (heading south) for Cala Vadella.
The services at this beach are wisely controlled by the Asociación de Vecinos de Cala Vadella, who have known how to direct their ample repertoire better than anyone. The parking lot is guarded and free of charge. And has an integral cloakroom service, hot showers and toilets for 2€ per day. There is also a lost and found, access for the handicapped, security against theft and hawkers, rescue and first aid.
Apart from the many restaurants in Cala Vadella, you can also enjoy hammocks and beach umbrellas (4€), pedal boats (10€ per hour), pedal boats (30€), boat trips and many other activities.
